Stockland Green

Streetwise is a new and significant programme in the Stockland Green area. The project operates a number of sessions each week concentrating on identified troubled hotspots which the local police confirm as hotspots where young people congregate. The youth workers then engage with young people the aim is to divert them away from negative and potential anti-social behaviour by communicating and consulting with them to identify and engage them in activities that are of interest and significant to them.

• New Erdington Streetwise project funding gained for two sessions per week began January looking to increase to six sessions per week in Stockland Green Ward Erdington
• Community chest bid successful for two year project replicate streetwise Sutton Coldfield in Erdington (Stockland Green )
• A link for young people to access other youth provision in the area engages in positive activities.
• Detached workers have made contact with more than 80 young people 15 of these young people are regularly involved in Diversionary activities
