Human Resources
All of the fantastic work that you have read about in this year's annual report would not have happened without our dedicated and enthusiastic team of staff and volunteers, whose passion and ability have driven our work forward.
There have been lots of changes in the past year, we have said goodbye to long-term volunteer and staff member, Kelly Fogarty who has moved on to Birmingham YMCA and Aaron Smith who has joined the team at Duke Street Chapel.
Heidi Bentley has replaced Aaron in his role as Streetwise project manager and she has lead on the expansion of Streetwise into Stockland Green.
In August we created two full-time trainee posts and welcomed Laura Armstrong and Anthony Coton to the team.
August also saw the start of our Disability Family Project, made possible by a grant from the Parent fund and we were delighted to welcome Debbie Hopkins to our full time team.
We continue to strive towards maintaining the highest possible standards for our young people. This year includes:
The adoption and implementation of MHL's health and safety package and HR support
Rolling out new health and safety training to all staff and volunteers
Maintaining a high standard of Safeguarding training and delivery
Joint Board and staff away day to develop organisational action plan
Review of staff performance management procedures
Our staff team's wellbeing and development is integral to our aims and purposes. As well as ensuring that our staff are constantly developing professionally through ongoing training and new opportunities, we are conscious of the importance of spiritual development. This year this included a spiritual retreat to the Peak District.
